Established Ivanti's UX Research function by leading the end-to-end research process, developing best practices, and driving strategic insights to support the full Ivanti portfolio of products.
Primary objectives: Managing the research roadmap across all product areas, upskilling the wider UX team in research best practices through our “UX Research Academy” and mentoring initiatives, developing participant recruitment processes, managing all research team members, and fostering a research-driven culture.
Common research methods: In-depth exploratory interviews, concept testing, prototype/ wireframe evaluation, usability testing, workshops, web analytics, and surveys.

Lead UX Researcher: KPMG UK
January 2023-December 2023
Led research for the Digital Design team including overseeing research initiatives and team development, and oversaw the creation of KPMG’s AI Centre of Excellence.
Research program management: Managed all members of the User Research pod, the research roadmap, and wider UX team strategy. Led business development including bids, RFP’s, and proposals. Contributed to strategy and thought leadership around GenAI.
Research execution: Led end-to-end research process for internal and client-facing projects. This encompassed qualitative and quantitative research methods including interviews, surveys, creating user personas, prototype testing, and managing participant recruitment.
Learning and development program: Created a robust learning pathway and corresponding career progression plan to guide the development of current and prospective user researchers in KPMG. Created a User Research Playbook outlining our approach to research and best practices for various research methods and activities.
Lead User Researcher: QS Quacquarelli Symonds
October 2020 - December 2022
Established QS’s first UX Research function, building the program from the ground up and integrating research into product strategy.
Research program management: Established best practices, steered research and product roadmaps including meeting regularly with C-level execs, regularly presented research insights at company-wide meetings, and managed the research team.
Data collection and analysis: Supported the full lifecycle of user research including multiple foundational research studies, which led to the creation of student and client personas, an updated marketing strategy, and several new features for the Top Universities website.
Additional responsibilities: Managed rolling satisfaction surveys, created a comprehensive user journey map, conducted agile prototype testing, moderated panels, attended conferences, and authored internal and external facing content.
User Experience Research Associate: Google
November 2017 - September 2019
Worked on the Google Home and Android Handheld teams conducting qualitative and quantitative user experience research.
Google Home team: Independently conducted mixed methods research to inform the development of new communications features across Google Home products and worked as lead UXR for Google Wifi products. Additionally, conducted a series of audio perception studies for Google Home speakers.
Android Handheld team: Led studies focusing on usability, ergonomics, concept testing, and the development of the next Android operating system. Additionally worked on longitudinal, foundational research with wide ranging implications for the entire Android platform.
Additional responsibilities: Conducting and participating in workshops and sprints, running large scale surveys, compiling secondary research reports, and presenting to the larger UX community on multiple occasions.
Speech and Language Data Researcher: Amazon
February 2017 - November 2017
Worked on Amazon’s Alexa team focusing on speech and language data research for new and existing Alexa products.
Research responsibilities: participant recruitment, protocol development, audio recording equipment set-up, moderating sessions, writing and maintaining grammars in multiple languages, and providing linguistic/ cultural expertise for cross-language adaptability.
Project coordinator responsibilities: partnering closely with program managers and external vendors to monitor study progress including ensuring quotas are being met, data upload has occurred, participant logs are correct, and training new researchers in the US and abroad.
User Studies Facilitator: Apple
October 2016 - February 2017
Facilitated user studies to support the development of facial recognition features in iPhones and related Apple products. Responsibilities included training internal and external participants on study protocols, administering NDA’s, conducting interviews and surveys, handling prototype devices, conducting background research, and training new facilitators.
